Dead-simple formula

In 7 days, we will <complete a visible step> at <local place> that produces <proof>.

Examples of “proof”: signatures delivered, meeting scheduled, photos posted, letter filed, event held.

Doable examples (choose or adapt)

• Public records request day: File a records request about a local issue and publish what you learn.
• Library info table: Set up a small table for two hours to share a one-page explainer and collect 25 signatures.
• Meet your rep: Schedule a 15-minute meeting with a city council member; bring 3 written asks.
• Neighbor story drive: Collect 5 short stories from neighbors about a local problem; post a summary.
• Letters to the editor mini-sprint: Draft and submit 3 LTEs on the same local topic.

Finish strong

• Assign one owner per task. Tiny tasks are fine — just don’t share ownership.
• Put task deadlines on calendars before you leave the first meeting.
• Take photos or screenshots — they’re your proof of progress.
• When you finish, write 3–4 sentences about what you did and what’s next.
